Comox & The Peninsula Real Estate

Comox isn’t just a location; it’s a deliberate shift to a highly manicured, nautical way of life. Sitting quietly on a spectacular peninsula surrounded by the ocean and the Beaufort Mountains, the pace here is noticeably slower and more community-focused than its urban neighbor, Courtenay. Whether you are walking the docks at the Comox Marina to buy fresh spot prawns, grabbing coffee on the boutique-lined Comox Avenue, or watching the kite surfers at Goose Spit, this area is designed for those who want a deeply peaceful, walkable, and visually stunning seaside lifestyle.

Connected by the Coast

The lifestyle here is uniquely insulated but incredibly accessible. The Town of Comox serves as the walkable commercial core, but as you drive outward around the Comox Peninsula (through Point Holmes and Radford Beach), you enter a world of sprawling, quiet oceanfront estates and towering Douglas firs. Despite the quiet seaside feel, you are uniquely connected to the rest of the world: Comox is home to the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) and the CFB Comox military base, providing incredible economic stability and direct commercial flights right out of your own backyard.

A Refined Perspective on the 2026 Market

Because this is the premier retirement and oceanfront destination in the Valley, we are navigating a highly affluent, premium market. With benchmark detached home prices hovering around $860,000, Comox commands a slightly higher entry point than Courtenay. The market is heavily driven by legacy buyers seeking luxury walk-on waterfronts, retirees hunting for single-level patio homes, and military families needing turn-key houses near the base. With massive rental demand driven by the military and hospital staff, properties offering legal suites or carriage houses are incredibly valuable here.
